Saugeen Shores Police have arrested and charged three people in a drug trafficking investigation.
Police say just before 3 in the afternoon on Tuesday (January 19th), officers conducted a vehicle stop in Southampton for a traffic violation.
They say a woman known to police was seated in the vehicle and was arrested at that time for a previous mischief incident.
According to police, there was a man in the back seat who was wanted on a warrant. Police say both people were arrested without incident.
While speaking with the driver, police say they observed several items related to drug use in the vehicle. The male driver was then arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
Police say the Saugeen Shores Criminal Investigation Unit applied for multiple search warrants which were granted and executed in Port Elgin.

Failure to Comply with Release Order x2
Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
A 24 year old Bruce County man has been charged with
Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of Trafficking x 2
Possession of a Schedule 1 substance x3
Failure to Comply with Release Order
Possession of Prohibited Device for Dangerous Purpose
He was also charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm and Unlawfully in a Dwelling in relation to a previous media release on January 1st 2021

Mischief Under $5000 for a previous offence on December 22 2020
Police say all three people have a bail hearing today.
