Premier Doug Ford has responded to news that the Pfizer vaccine shortage for Canada is worse than had been thought.
Today the Federal government announced that no new Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines would arrive next week and far fewer than planned will arrive in the coming weeks.
Ford says this is “troubling and a massive concern.”
“My message to the Federal government is that nothing else matters right now,” said Ford. “Every day we’re giving out less vaccines than we have the capacity to administer is a day we lose.”
Pfizer has been retooling and upscaling its plant in Belgium which has resulted in delays.
Today Prime Minister Justin Trudeau assured the country that Public Services and Procurement Minister Anita Anand is in touch with Pfizer every day.
