Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire “.
We checked the results from last weekend when the National Football League Playoffs opened.
There were 6 Wild card games and our record was 4 out of 6 straight up and 3 out of 6 against the spread.
In fairness, Seattle and Pittsburgh torpedoed my selections with dreadful performances on home field.
How in the world can the Seattle Seahawks, an offensive powerhouse, not beat a team that started a second string quarterback and then, when injured, replaced the backup with a guy coming off thumb surgery on his throwing hand ?
…..and Pittsburgh ? What was THAT ?!!
Okay, let’s try again
Tomorrow, the LA Rams are at Green Bay in the NFC while Buffalo will host Baltimore in the AFC.
On Sunday, the AFC game is Cleveland at Kansas City followed by the NFC matchup at New Orleans between the Saints and Tampa Bay.
Straight up; let’s go Green Bay, Baltimore, KC & New Orleans.
Against the spread based on the opening odds this week…………….
– Green Bay is favored by 7; I’ll take the Packers
– The Bills are – 3, so I’m taking Baltimore
– Kansas City is a 10 point favorite and I say they’ll cover
& Tampa Bay is a 3.5 underdog, so I’ll pick the Buccaneers to keep it close.
Have a great weekend.
I’m Fred Wallace
