Public Health Grey Bruce says seventeen new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Grey Bruce Wednesday (Jan 6th).
The Health Unit says four cases are in Owen Sound, three are in Chatsworth, two are in Hanover, two in the Town of The Blue Mountains, two in Huron Kinloss, two in West Grey and one each in Meaford and South Bruce.
Public Health says with eight recoveries Wednesday, there are 52 confirmed active cases and nine active probable cases. Probable cases are not lab confirmed, but are symptomatic and are high-risk contacts of an active case.
They say there are 142 High Risk Contacts associated with the region’s active cases.
Two people from Grey Bruce are currently hospitalized. No one has died locally.
One long-term care facility, Sepoy Manor in Lucknow has outbreak status after a person working there tested positive.
There are no outbreaks in schools or childcare centres in Grey Bruce.
