Starting today, all international travelers who fly into Canada aged 5 and older will require a negative COVID-19 test to enter the country.
Proof of a negative COVID-19 test must be presented to the airline before boarding a flight and the test needs to be conducted within 72 hours prior to departure.
All travelers to Canada must still complete the mandatory 14-day quarantine upon arrival and violators face six months in prison, and fines up to $750,000.
Meanwhile, the province has announced that it will offer free and voluntary COVID-19 testing for international travelers arriving at Pearson Airport and staying in the province for at least 14 days.
