Northland Recreation in Kilworthy is taking the proactive step of informing the community that an employee has tested positive for Covid-19.
The employee last worked in the store on Saturday, January 2nd.
The employee has mild symptoms and is self-isolating while resting at home and the company is wishing them a speedy recovery.
As a precautionary measure, the retail location will be closed to the public today while deep cleaning happens, reported the company in a release.
The company took the step of informing the public in order to provide transparency for customers who may have recently shopped curb-side with them at the 1868 Highway 11 North location.
Staff who worked at the facility but were not identified as high-risk contacts have been told to monitor for symptoms and are not required to isolate unless otherwise instructed by Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit.
“Northland Recreation considers the health and well-being of its employees our top priority and we are working with the local Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit to ensure that the store’s employees are given information and the support they need moving forward,” reads the release. “Northland Recreation has several measures in place to keep our employees and customers safe, including cleaning and sanitization, implementing measures in the store that promote physical distancing between employees and staff.”
The highway location is closed today, Wednesday, January 6th, while undergoing an extensive cleaning from a 3rd party. They will re-open for curbside pick-up tomorrow January 7th.
