Ski resorts across the province will likely lose close to 90 million dollars because of the lockdown.
That’s according to the President of the Ontario Snow Resorts Association, Kevin Nichol.
Nichol says this 90 million dollar figure comes from a survey of 50 Alpine resorts represented by the association.
He adds that the number does not include lost revenue from businesses that also benefit from the ski season.

Happy Holidays! We deeply wish we could welcome you to our resorts, especially with the fresh snowfall. We want you to know that the ski and snowboard season is not over in Ontario! Resort operators and Provincial ministries are working together to safely reopen our ski areas.
In order to be successful, there are two jobs to accomplish during this provincial shut down.
- As skiers/riders, we need to follow public health rules to reduce Covid-19 case counts.
- As Ski Resorts, we will continue to make snow, groom trails, and fine tune our safety protocols.
When we do reopen, as skiers/riders we need to follow all of the resorts’ operating protocols to the letter.
See you soon on the slopes!
