A 55-year-old Bracebridge man is facing charges including flight from police after the OPP received word about a man who was unresponsive behind the wheel of a parked vehicle in Orillia.
January 2nd just after 9 am police responded to a Murphy Road business parking lot.
Before they arrived, the driver woke up and drove off after people tapped at the window trying to wake him up.
An officer tried to stop the vehicle a short time later as it was believed the driver was impaired.
The driver fled, and, a short time later, police received a call from a homeowner who reported the man had entered their garage and then fled again on foot. He was arrested a few minutes later.
Marcel Diotte’s charges include impaired driving, dangerous operation, flight from police, break and enter and possession of break-in instruments amongst others.
He’s being held for a bail hearing and will appear in Barrie court December 6th 2021 .
