Ontario’s Finance Minister has resigned on his return from a trip taken during the shutdown.
Premier Doug Ford has announced today that he accepted Rod Phillip’s resignation as Finance Minister following a conversation they had today.
Phillips arrived home at Pearson Airport in Toronto this morning, after returning from his Caribbean vacation to St Bart’s. He apologized for his decision to travel during the holidays.
Ford says minister Peter Bethlenfalvy, currently the President of the Treasury Board, will assume the role of minister of finance and deliver the government’s 2021 budget.
