Provincial Police say a 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged after a child abduction at Saugeen First Nation yesterday evening.
OPP say they were called to a residence on Eagle Street just after 8 p.m. Wednesday and learned a suspect had broken in, took a young child and fled.
According to police, the victim’s parents pursued the suspect and managed to get their kid back. The suspect then took off.
OPP say a search of the area was conduced with assistance of the West Region Emergency Response Team. Police managed to locate the suspect and bring him into custody.
A 26-year-old man from Saugeen First Nation faces charges of abduction of a person under 14 and break and enter.
The accused was remanded into custody after a bailing hearing earlier today.
