Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says the first shipments of the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine have arrived in Canada.
He says they are part of the 168,000 doses we’ll be getting before the end of the month and part of the 40 million doses Canada is getting from Moderna overall.
Trudeau also released a Christmas message today via Twitter, which was a message of hope.
“This isn’t the holiday season we wanted I know,” he said, “but here’s the thing – even though this year’s Christmas traditions will be different, we can and should give thanks for everything that unites us. Because today is a time to recognise all of the good that we have in our lives.”
Trudeau says we can all agree 2020 has been tough, but he says through it, Canadians have responded with kindness, generosity and hope.
Merry Christmas! I know things are different this year, and there aren’t any dinners to host or parties to go to, but we can – and should – still give thanks for everything that unites us. My family and I are wishing you and your loved ones the very best. https://t.co/wjbRQw5Gba pic.twitter.com/ukif9IZkLT
