Municipalities in Bruce and Grey counties are closing down many public facilities again as Ontario enters a province-wide lockdown on Boxing Day.
Essential services in municipalities will continue to operate. This includes services such as snow removal, road maintenance, water and wastewater, garbage and recycling collection and police and fire departments.
Owen Sound has announced city hall will close to the public until Jan. 25, 2021. Some other public facilities also closing in Owen Sound as of Dec. 26:
-The Julie McArthur Regional Recreation Centre
-The Harrison Park Good Cheer Rink
-The walking program at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre
-The Library will remain closed until at least January 26. Curbside pickup service will be offered starting Tuesday, January 5.
Saugeen Shores has announced its municipal office, public works facilities, The Plex and Rotary Hall, Centennial Pool, Southampton Coliseum, Southampton Town Hall auditorium and Southampton Curling Club will close for the lockdown period.
Other municipal facility closures in Grey Bruce publicly communicated as of Tuesday evening appear below.
Grey County closures:
-Grey County offices will be closed from December 24 at 12:00 p.m. to January 4 at 8:30 a.m.
-Grey Roots Museum and Archives will be closing at 5:00 p.m. on December 23 and will be closed during the province-wide lockdown.
-Provincial Offences will be closed for in-person services during the province-wide lockdown.
Georgian Bluffs closures:
-All township facilities including administration offices and Shallow Lake Community Centre
Meaford closures:
-Municipal offices and facilities will be closed for the holidays from Friday December 25th, 2020 to Monday January 4th, 2021.
Grey Highlands closures:
-All arenas closed
-Libraries remain open for curbside delivery and pick-up
-Museums remain closed
The Blue Mountains closures:
-All municipal facilities closed as of Dec. 24, including Town Hall, Beaver Valley Community Centre and Arena, Craigleith Community Centre, Ravenna Hall, The Blue Mountains Public Library and the Craigleith Heritage Depot
Southgate closures:
-Township administration office
-Ruth Hargrave Memorial Library
-Dundalk Arena and Community Centre
Hanover closures:
-All municipal facilities including Civic Centre and P&H Centre closed
-Hanover Public Library will be providing curbside pickup by appointment; service hours to be announced.
Chatsworth closures:
-No new closure information published as of Dec. 22
West Grey closures:
-The administration office, recreation facilities and libraries will be closed to the public until February 1, 2021.
Bruce County closures:
-Bruce County Administrative buildings will be closed to the public until Monday, January 25, 2021, but
will continue to offer customer service virtually.
-Bruce County Public Library Branches will be open for curbside pickup only, beginning on Monday,
December 28, 2020.
-Bruce County Museum in Southampton will be closed to the public until Monday, January 25, 2021, but
will continue to offer virtual services.
-Bruce County Trails and river access points will remain open, but trail buildings are closed to the
public.
Kincardine closures:
-The Davidson Centre and Tiverton Sport Centre
-Kincardine Centre for the Arts
-Whitney Crawford Community Centre
-Brucedale Community Centre
-Kincardine Pavilion
Brockton closures:
-Brockton municipal office closed until Jan. 25
-Recreation Office at the Walkerton Community Centre is closed to the public
Huron-Kinloss closures:
-The Ripley-Huron Community Centre
-Point Clark Community Centre
-Lucknow Town Hall
-Municipal Office
Northern Bruce Peninsula closures:
-Municipal office (until Jan. 4)
South Bruce closures:
-No new closure information published as of Dec. 22
South Bruce Peninsula closures:
-The Wiarton Arena and the Sauble Community Centre closed effective December 24, 2020 at noon. The closures will remain in effect until the Provincial health regulations allow a return to indoor recreational activities.
-Town Hall will be closed on December 24, 2020 at noon and will reopen on January 4, 2021.
Arran-Elderslie closures:
