It’s the last day of class for most students across the province and Ontario’s education minister has told school boards to prepare for the possibility of full remote learning in the New Year.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce has sent a memo to school boards this week, saying they should encourage staff and students to bring essential learning materials home over the holidays, which will help the education system be ready for “all scenarios” as COVID-19 cases continue to surge across the province.
Lecce said there is a possibility of remote learning beyond January 4, when students are due to return to school.
SCDSB students will return to learning on Jan. 4, 2021; however, we need to be prepared to respond to public health measures. As such, we encourage students to take their personal belongings home on Friday, Dec. 18.
