Leonard-gate
The NBA is investigating allegations made against the LA Clippers and team consultant Jerry West involving the free-agency recruitment of Kawhi Leonard.
Johnny Wilkes filed a lawsuit against West and the Clippers, alleging the team consultant owes him $2.5 million in an oral agreement made for helping the Clippers land Leonard.
The lawsuit alleges that Wilkes told West he could provide information to help the Clippers land Leonard in free agency if the team agreed to pay him $2.5 million for his services. According to the lawsuit, West agreed to the terms.
Leonard says Wilkes played no role in his decision to sign with the Clippers over the Los Angeles Lakers and Toronto Raptors.
All Canadian Division ?
The possibility of the National Hockey League playing entirely in the United States for the upcoming season now exists.
The NHL is working with 5 different provincial health authorities in Canada hoping to stage the upcoming season with an all-Canadian division.
However, if agreements can’t be reached with the Canadian health agencies the proposed all-Canadian Division may not be created.
Lundqvist Leaving
Goalkeeper Henrik Lundqvist of the Washington Capitals announced he will sit out the upcoming NHL season because of a heart condition.
Lundqvist has been undergoing various tests on his heart for several weeks.
He joined the Capitals about 2 months ago, after 15 years with the New York Rangers.
