Ontario has announced its new Long-term Care staffing plan which promises a ‘nation-leading’ level of care.
Today Premier Doug Ford pledged up to $1.9 billion a year by the 4th year of the plan.
This will result in the hiring of 27,000 new Personal Support Workers, Registered Nurses, Registered Practical Healthcare Nurses and other staff.
“(It’s) more staff to deliver on our commitment to increase daily direct care for each resident to four hours a day by 2025,” he said.
Ontario’s Minister of Long Term Care Dr. Merrilee Fullerton vows residents will receive the quality of care and life that they deserve.
