Over $147 million is being invested to immediately expand access to critical mental health and addictions services for Ontarians during the pandemic.
It includes $30 million in targeted funding for youth and children mental health services and $8 million in culturally-safe services for indigenous people.
The announcement which also includes over $10 million for vulnerable populations such as those at risk of homelessness, was made today by Health Minister Christine Elliott.
“The impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic have been challenging for many individuals and families across Ontario,” she said. “Especially among those living with mental health and or addiction challenges.”
Today’s investment also includes over $15 million to expand virtual mental care supports for more Ontarians to access easier from home.
