
The Grey Bruce Health Unit reported nine new Covid cases and five additional recoveries in the region Wednesday.
According to Public Health, two people from Owen Sound, two from Southgate, two from Arran-Elderslie and residents of Saugeen Shores, Huron-Kinloss and Brockton tested positive.
Grey Bruce Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ian Arra says three of the new cases are close contacts of previously confirmed ones already in self-isolation and being followed by Public Health.
The active case load in the region rose to 33, as new infections outpaced recoveries. Four people are currently hospitalized in the area due to the virus.
Over the course of the pandemic, there have not been any deaths attributed to Covid in Grey Bruce.
Lee Manor long-term care facility in Owen Sound remains in outbreak status after a healthcare worker on temporary placement tested positive.
Public Health says there are no outbreaks at any schools or daycares in the region.
