Grade 6 and 8 students deciding which secondary school to attend can take part in virtual tours this month.
High schools in the Avon Maitland District School Board are hosting digital open houses throughout December.
Central Huron Secondary School Principal Christopher Smith says his virtual tour will be taking a deep dive into some of the course work prospective students could take part in.
“We’ve been doing a bit of virtual pig dissections, where we’ve invited our Grade 8s into the building virtually to see our biology classes.”
Smith says more virtual events will be showcased at CHSS over the next month.
The virtual open houses were brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, but Smith says collaboration with the community has helped to make the digital tours work.
“We connect with parents, and within the board we connect with other principals and vice-principals.”
