Derby co-chair Chris Geberdt confirms the annual event will return after a 1 year absence and will be conducted August 27th-September 5th

Multiple Cuts Ahead
The Canadian junior men’s hockey team still has 41 players at their Selection Camp in Red Deer, Alberta
The camp was interrupted by COVID-19 which led to the cancellation of exhibition games against university players, which in turn would have aided in the roster decisions.
Canada has to cut 16 players before the world junior hockey championship, which begins Christmas Day in Edmonton
NHL Notes
The National Hockey League Board of Governors staged a call yesterday and created a temporary division realignment plan for the season.
The realignment includes an all-Canadian division.
Nothing has been formally approved with the NHL targeting January 13th as a start date.
The owners & players are currently discussing scheduling, testing protocols and other obstacles that need to be overcome to start the season after revenue concerns caused by the COVID-19 pandemic stalled progress.

Forbes Magazine released their list of the most valuable National Hockey League franchises.
The New York Rangers, who have not made the playoffs in 3 years are listed as the # 1 NHL franchise on the list, estimated at $1.65 billion.
The Rangers are owned and operated by Madison Square Garden Sports, who also owns the New York Knicks, classified by Forbes as the NBA’s most valuable franchise earlier this year.
The Toronto Maple Leafs finished second on the list with an estimated value of $1.5 billion.

The Calgary Bubble
Curling Canada will impose harsh penalties should anyone step outside its proposed competition bubble in Calgary this year.
Four championships, including the World Men’s, will be staged between February & April.
Any player or coach who leaves the Calgary curling bubble without clearance for any reason during the Scotties or Brier, or invites a non-participant into the bubble, will be disqualified from competition immediately & also suspended from competitive play until July 2022.
