Grey Bruce OPP have charged a man with assaulting police after an incident in Chatsworth.
Police say it happened just before midnight Monday night. They say, “Officers were assisting a prisoner, who was lodged in a holding cell at the Grey Bruce OPP Detachment in Chatsworth from an earlier unrelated incident. The accused was being removed from the holding cell when he assaulted an officer. As well, the accused coughed in an officer’s face while yelling ‘COVID’ repeatedly.”
Police say, as a result, the have charged a 22 year old man from Grey Highlands, with Assaulting a Peace Officer, section 270(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada.
He has a court date in Owen Sound in January.
