Two major Christmas campaigns designed to assist The Salvation Army concluded over the weekend.
The Attack Hunger Campaign with IG Wealth Management along with the Owen Sound Police Auxiliary Food Drive both produced staggering results according to Alice Wannan of the Salvation Army
The annual Attack Hunger Campaign with ID Wealth Management exceeded its goals, raising $11,000 in cash donations along with 1,278 pounds of food donations.
The campaign received cash donations from almost 30 individuals and six businesses.
Meanwhile, over the course of 3 weekends, the Police Auxiliary, stationed at local grocery stores, were able to collect 5,287 pounds of non-perishable food items and also garnered just shy of $ 5,000 in cash donations.
The Salvation Army Food Bank in Owen Sound is supporting over 600 families this holiday season.
Those who may still want to make a donation can support the cause by contacting the Salvation Army online at www.salvationarmyowensound.ca, by telephone 519-376-5699 or by making a food donation at your local grocery store.
