A Snowy Owl that had been rescued by a South Bruce OPP officer from the grille of a vehicle after it had flown into it has been euthanized.
The rescue, which happened on Saturday, brought a smile to many faces.
After freeing the owl, South Bruce OPP contacted Another Chance Wildlife Rehabilitation Service based out of St. Thomas, and they took it in to care for it.
After closely examining the bird, they found some serious damage in both wings, head trauma, including an eye injury and the owl and was severely underweight.
They gave it some pain medication, rehydrated it and and contacted the Owl Foundation, but unfortunately, they say bird’s injuries were so severe, it had to be euthanized Tuesday afternoon.
