NHL Forecast
The National Hockey League is progressing towards establishing protocols and logistics to get next season underway under the shadow of incresing COVID-19 numbers.
The target start date for a potential 56-game regular season is now January 13th.
However, that date has not been officially confirmed
The seven teams that did not qualify for the 24-team finish to the 2019-20 season were hoping to get a one week head start on opening their training camps because they have not been on the ice since March.
It appears that is unlikely,
Training camps would open approximately 10 days prior,
Other significant dates on the calendars, like the Trade Deadline, plus how the NHL will navigate any interruptions due to COVID-19 are being discussed
Five Juniors Released

The 5 players were deemed “unfit to continue to play based on return-to-play protocols,”
Canada’s camp was halted in late November after two players and a staff member tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
The world junior hockey championship is scheduled to open Christmas Day in Edmonton.
Canada’s first game is set for Boxing Day
