Public Health says four new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Grey Bruce Monday (Dec 7).
Two are in Grey Highlands and two are in Brockton.
With two recoveries Monday, the Health Unit says there are 28 active cases in the region and six active probable cases. (Probable cases are not lab confirmed, but high-risk contacts of an active case, and also symptomatic).
They say there are 198 High Risk Contacts associated with the active cases.
One person is currently hospitalized due to the virus in Grey Bruce. No one has died locally from COVID-19.
Public Health says with the outbreak at Golden Dawn Long-Term Care Home in Lion’s Head declared over, there are no outbreaks in long-term care homes, schools or daycares in Grey Bruce.
Meanwhile, the Grey Bruce Health Unit is working with Bluewater School Board to address a positive case of COVID-19 associated with Macphail Memorial Elementary School in Flesherton.
They say there was a probable case identified at Macphail on Nov 30 and a positive case identified yesterday
they say these cases are not linked and there is no evidence of transmission within the school environment.
Public Health says anyone not contacted by them is not considered at risk and need not take any additional steps including asymptomatic testing.
