Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Canada has an agreement with Pfizer to start early delivery of doses of their vaccine candidate.
Today Trudeau said Canada has contracted to receive up to 249,000 doses of the Pfizer BioNtech Covid-19 vaccine in December.
“Pending Health Canada approval, the first shipment of doses is tracking for delivery next week,” he said.
Millions of doses are on the way after that.
Trudeau says Pfizer, the Public Health Agency and the Provinces are also working to finalize preparation of the first 14 vaccination sites this week.
Trudeau adds that any vaccine approved in Canada will be safe and effective.
