Four new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Sunday (Dec 6 ) in Grey Bruce.
Two are in Southgate, one is in West Grey and one is in Brockton.
With two recoveries yesterday, Public Health says there are currently 26 active cases in the region.
There are also what they say are five active probable cases. (Probable cases are not lab confirmed, but high-risk contacts of an active case, and also symptomatic).
There are 192 High Risk Contacts associated with the region’s active cases.
No one is hospitalized and no one has died locally from the virus.
There are no outbreaks in schools or daycares. Golden Dawn Long-Term care home in Lion’s Head is still in outbreak status after a staff member tested positive several days ago.
Meanwhile, Public Health says it is working with the Walkerton Minor Hockey League to address a positive case within the league. They say there’s no evidence of person to person transmission within the league.
The Health Unit says it has directed those who are considered at risk to be tested. They say as with any community members, those who come down with symptoms should isolate and arrange to go to an assessment centre.
They say there’s no value in being tested if you haven’t been contacted by Public Health and don’t have symptoms.
