An outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared at Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH) in Midland.
The hospital says the case was discovered on its 2 North inpatient unit, in collaboration with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit.
It says on December 3, one admitted patient and one staff member were confirmed positive for COVID-19.
Contact tracing is currently underway to determine the origin of the infection and the risk of exposure among staff and patients.
Due to the current outbreak, inpatient visitation is restricted at this time to one essential support person only.
