A man from Kilworthy has been fined in connection with Moose Hunting violations.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is reminding hunters that shooting across a road is dangerous and illegal.
The local resident is one of three hunters facing a combined $10,000 in fines for offenses including discharging a firearm down a road, shooting a calf in closed season, abandoning it, obstruction of a ministry investigation and making a false statement to a conservation officer.
The incident happened in the Silver Dollar area of Ontario on October 17th when a moose calf was shot twice down and across Highway 599.
The Ministry says a rifle was deposited in a lake the next day while the men were driving home from the trip in an effort to obstruct the ministry investigation.
