The Grey Bruce Health Unit reported six new Covid cases in the region Wednesday.
According to Public Health, two people from Grey Highlands, and residents of Owen Sound, Southgate, Meaford and Arran-Elderslie tested positive.
Grey Bruce Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ian Arra says three of the six new infections are close contacts of previously confirmed cases already being monitored by Public Health.
Meantime, the Grey Bruce Health Unit issued a statement saying it is working with Gospel Light Christian School in Ceylon to address a positive case of Covid.
Anyone not contacted by Public Health is not considered at risk and need not take any additional steps.
“Currently, there are no outbreaks; that is, evidence of transmission from person to person, in any schools or childcare centres, in Grey Bruce,” a release from Public Health explains. “No bus routes of any schools are involved with this case.”
There are now 35 active known cases in Grey Bruce, as new positives slightly outpaced recoveries on Wednesday. No one is currently hospitalized.
Over the course of the pandemic, there have not been any deaths attributed to Covid in Grey Bruce.
