Residents of Grey and Bruce counties are starting to dig out as the first significant snowfall of the wintry season continues.
A winter storm warning continues for northern Grey County, including Owen Sound and The Blue Mountains.
Environment Canada advises 20 to 30 centimetres are possible Tuesday through Wednesday morning. Snow is expected to be heavy at times.
Strong northerly winds are also possible Tuesday, particularly near Georgian Bay. Blowing snow is expected to persist.
Snowfall warnings are also in place for the Bruce Peninsula and southern Grey County.
Forecasters say 10 to 20 centimetres of accumulation by Wednesday morning is expected in those areas.
Grey and Bruce counties, as well as most municipalities in the region have declared significant weather events.
This declaration suspends the standard timelines required for municipalities to meet their winter maintenance objectives until the municipality declares the significant weather event has ended.
