Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson is putting out a call for nominations to recognize volunteer work done by local residents.
A release says due to COVID-19, Thompson plans to host a virtual New Year’s levee and to celebrate this year’s winners. Thompson’s office says details on that event will be announced at a later date in December.
Remarkable Citizens awards are handed out each year to respected and dedicated community leaders, volunteers, and residents who have made a positive impact within the riding of Huron-Bruce.
In a statement, Thompson says, “We have all been through a lot these past few months…but I know there are many, many outstanding and remarkable citizens who are doing their part to help others during this pandemic as well as being engaged in other areas and making a difference in their communities. As I have said before, volunteers are the lifeblood of every community, and I have been blessed with the opportunity to meet so many across the riding.”
To nominate someone, describe in about 250 words, the person’s contribution to the community and why you feel they are deserving, and send it to diane.foxton@pc.ola.org.
Please include contact information for both the nominee and the nominator. Also include two pictures of the nominee.
Nominations can also be mailed to either constituency office: Blyth (408 Queen St. P.O. Box 426, N0M 1H0) or Kincardine (807 Queen St. Unit 2, P.O. Box 834 N2Z 2Y2).
Nomination deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2020. For more information, contact Diane Foxton at 519-396-3007.
