Ontario’s Ministry of Long-Term Care (MLTC) is reviewing a request that would see the District of Muskoka be issued a Long Term Care (LTC) Municipal Home Approval for Fairvern Nursing Home.
The request is from Licensee Huntsville District Nursing Home Inc. in connection to Fairvern, which is a 76-bed non-profit long-term care home currently located at 14 Mill Street in Huntsville.
The request involves the following:
- The issuance of an LTC Municipal Home Approval to the District of Muskoka for Fairvern Nursing Home at its current location. The Licensee would be required to return their licence to the Ministry upon the Municipality receiving the Approval; and,
- A new Approval to be issued to Muskoka upon completion of the redevelopment of the new 160-bed LTC home to be located at 450 Muskoka Road 3 North in Huntsville.
In accordance with legislation, public opinion is needed before a final decision.
