More flu vaccines are arriving in Collingwood and Wasaga Beach.
The Georgian Bay Family Health Team says drive-through flu shot clinics will be receiving 1,000 more flu vaccine doses this week and local healthcare providers are encouraging residents to book an appointment to receive their flu shot while supplies last.
“This year, more than ever, we are urging everyone to get their flu shot in order to prevent any undue stress on our health care system as we address the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Marie LaRose, Executive Director, Georgian Bay Family Health Team. “With the new supply of flu vaccines, we are encouraging residents to book an appointment to receive their flu shot while supplies last.”
The appointment only drive-through clinic in Collingwood is located in the parking lot behind the Collingwood Legion at 490 Ontario Street and in Wasaga Beach at the COVID-19 assessment centre, located in the parking lot behind the RecPlex Centre, at 1724 Mosley Street.

The drive-through flu shot clinics offer the regular flu vaccine to anyone 6 months of age or older. Limited supplies of high-dose flu shot are available through your physician’s office, or at some local pharmacies, for those who are 65 and older with certain chronic health conditions.
The flu shot will not protect against COVID-19, but it will help reduce your risk of getting the flu and COVID-19 at the same time. Having both illnesses at the same time can put individuals at a higher risk for severe illness.
