York Regional Police say an attempted puppy theft in King Township may be linked to a similar incident that occurred in Mississauga on the same day.
Police say a 54-year-old Barrie woman who was selling Maltese Poodle puppies went to a carpool lot in the area of Highways 400 and 9 to meet potential buyers yesterday, when a white Honda Civic drove up with two men inside, who assaulted the victim, took the puppy and attempted to flee.
However, police say the woman chased after them and they ended up tossing the puppy in its carrier out the window.
Luckily, no one was injured, but police say about an hour later, a puppy was stolen at gunpoint in Mississauga.
