A 32 year old Collingwood man and 15 year old girl are among 8 people charged in connection with a drug trafficking investigation by York Regional Police.
It began earlier this summer, after police received an increase in overdose calls in Georgina and investigators believed that at least two deaths and 14 overdose calls were connected to fentanyl.
A search warrant was executed at a home this week, when more than 100 grams of fentanyl were seized and the suspects were taken into custody on several charges, including Possession, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession for the Purpose of Distribution and Fail to Comply with Judicial Release Order.
The following drugs were seized:
129 grams of powdered fentanyl
296 grams of cannabis
0.14 grams of cocaine
