Public Health Grey Bruce says in order to remain in the Province’s Green stage of restrictions, we must stay vigilant with COVID-19 precautions.
They say they have been seeing a deeply concerning trend of a significant increase in the number of cases locally, and in the number of close contacts of these cases.
Three new cases of COVID-19 were reported Monday (Nov 16) in Grey Bruce.
There are 33 confirmed active cases in the region.
No one is hospitalized and no one has died locally from the virus.
There are no outbreaks in long-term care homes, retirement homes, schools or daycares in Grey Bruce.
The Grey Bruce Health Unit says it is working with Cedarville Breezes Parochial School Leaders and associated Community Leaders to address a probable case of COVID-19 associated with the school. They say, “Through a robust collaboration with the school and community leaders, a mutual decision was made to close the small-sized school for 14 days out of an abundance of caution.”
The Health Unit says, “While there is a probable case associated with a school, our assessment, to date, reflects that the case did not acquire the infection from within the school setting. Currently there are no outbreaks; that is, evidence of transmission from person to person, in any schools or childcare centres, in Grey Bruce. No bus routes of any schools are involved with this case.”
