OPP have made two arrests in an assault investigation in Clearview Township.
On November 15, 2020, around 11:30 am, Huronia West OPP officers were dispatched to a man and woman in distress at a gas station in the Stayner area.
They both told police they were assaulted and held against their will at a home on County Rd 7.
With help from the Huronia West Crime Unit, OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), Tactical Response Unit (TRU) and Aviation Services, two suspects were taken into custody.
A 49 year old Stayner man is charged with assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, three counts of adult kidnapping and three of forcible confinement, and two weapons charges.
A 53 year old Wasaga Beach woman is charged with two counts of assault causing bodily harm, four counts of assault with a weapon, three of kidnapping and three of forcible confinement, and two weapons charges.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
