Brockton has a new Director of Fire and Emergency Services.
The municipality has promoted Chris Wells to the position.
A release from the Municipality says Wells joined the Walkerton Fire Department in 2007 as a Firefighter and was promoted to Captain in 2012.
He has also been a Fire Prevention Officer & Health & Safety Coordinator since 2014.
Wells says, “I look forward to continued work with staff and with residents in Brockton. This new challenge will provide me with an opportunity to expand on my work within municipal government while continuing to provide high quality and valued fire services.”
As Director of Fire and Emergency Services, Wells will lead the operations of the Walkerton Fire Department and Elmwood Fire Department including fire prevention, fire suppression, hazardous materials incidents, auto extrication incidents, rescue all life and property saving functions.
He’ll also assist with Emergency Preparedness Planning and Emergency Management Plans for Brockton.
Mayor Chris Peabody says, “Chris is a professional, loyal and dedicated employee within the Municipality of Brockton and his municipal experience and fire and emergency services background will make him well positioned to lead the Walkerton Fire
Department and the Elmwood Fire Department.”
Wells takes up the new position December 1st.
