Barrie Police have made an arrest in connection with a hit and run this summer that left a pedestrian with life-altering injuries.
Police say on the evening of August 9th, a man was walking in a parking lot on King Street, where a vehicle sped up through the lot and ended up hitting the man, before running over him and taking off.
A couple of days later, police found a man asleep at the wheel of a vehicle and noticed it had damage consistent with hitting the pedestrian.
Following a forensic examination of the vehicle, a 26-year-old man was arrested this week on charges of dangerous driving causing bodily harm and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.
He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Barrie on January 11, 2021.
