Another sixteen cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Huron and Perth counties.
Huron Perth Public Health says nine of the new cases were confirmed in Stratford Thursday, five in Perth East, one in North Perth, and one in Central Huron.
While there are 61 active cases of the novel coronavirus in the two counties, HPPH says 40 are linked to an outbreak at Stratford’s Cedarcroft Place Retirement Residence.
The other 21 cases are active in the community.
Health officials say another resident who tested positive for COVID-19 at Cedarcroft has died, bringing Huron-Perth’s death toll from the virus to nine.
HPPH also confirms three cases at schools in Huron-Perth (a pair at Milverton Public School, and one at Shakespeare Public School) are not outbreaks.
