There is a surge in new Covid-19 cases in our region.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit reports 46 cases since Tuesday.
There is a new case in Collingwood, a woman over 80 who is a resident at Sunset Manor long-term care home. She is the first resident at the facility to test positive for the virus. One staff member has tested positive for Covid-19.
Orillia has a new case, a woman 45 to 64 whose case is under investigation by the health unit.
Health officials are also looking into a case in Severn, a woman 35 to 44.
Huntsville has a new case today, a woman over 80 whose case is under investigation.
Barrie has three new cases.
