Georgian College is one of the institutions that will receive research funding from he Federal government.
Georgian Georgian will get a $33,476 grant, the first Canada Foundation For Innovation grant for the college.
The money will help a project that is developing a state-of-the-art mobile COVID-19 screening station that will include thermal scanning, a digital screening survey, and facial recognition for assessing an individual’s on-site travel path to enable safe operations and aid in cleaning protocols.
The research project will take place over the next six months, with a prototype product available to local businesses and communities by summer 2021.
