The Grey Bruce Health Unit is investigating after a person infected with COVID-19 attended a party on Halloween night in Dundalk and may have exposed others to the virus.
The Health Unit says some of the partygoers were Grey Highlands Secondary School students.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ian Arra says the Health Unit is working to identify those who may be at risk and says they aren’t concerned about transmission just yet because of the virus’s incubation period. Arra says they are not yet shedding the virus.
Public Health says anyone deemed to be at risk of contracting COVID-19 will be contacted by public health within 24 hours.
He says results from early testing would be unreliable and put individuals at risk of more testing than is required.
Arra adds, there is no need for closure of facilities in the community.
