Severn Township’s Ward 5 seat is now vacant and will be filled by appointment.
Council made the declaration Wednesday following Councillor Sarah Valiquette-Thompson’s resignation.
Mayor Mike Burkett thanked the councillor for her service to the community and wished her family the best.
Council will now fill the position by appointment.
The Township is inviting community-minded individuals to apply for the position by December 4th at 4 pm. Candidates must be eligible to vote in Severn to qualify.
Following interviews, Council will select the new Ward 5 Councillor at a Special Council meeting December 10th at 9 am.
The successful candidate will be sworn in at a Special Council meeting on December 16th at 9 am.
