Bruce Grey Owen Sound MP Alex Ruff says some changes are coming to the Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA).
In an update recently released on Twitter, Ruff says eligibility has been expanded and the deadline to apply has been extended.
As of October 26th, businesses that use a personal chequing account can apply for CEBA, provided they create a new business chequing/operating account at a participating financial institution.
All applicants now have until December 31st to apply for CEBA.
Ruff says in the update which can be found at the bottom of this page, that coming soon, the CEBA will be increased from $40,000 to $60,000. It will be available to all new and previous applicants for the loan.
He says if you have already applied for the CEBA and have questions about your application, the CEBA call centre number is 1-888-324-4201, where an agent will call within three business days. They can address questions about the status of your application, reasons it was declined, or reasons it was rejected.
Meanwhile, also posted below is link to Question Period (October 29th) in which Ruff asks, “Why did it take the government so long to implement these changes?”
Question: Has the government been misleading Canadian with respect to the CEBA? You can read/watch my speech here including the government response – https://t.co/7B9iLlXOID #CEBA #BruceGreyOwenSound #smallbusiness #farmers
