Provincial police want to ensure your Halloween is as safe as it is fun.
Constable Jamie Stanley reminds drivers to be cautious in residential areas Saturday night, where children may be trick-or-treating.
Stanley recommends keeping below the 50 km/h residential speed limit, in the event a child wanders on to the roadway.
Parents are reminded keep children as visible as possible, using glow sticks, reflective tape, and flashlights for young ghosts and ghouls.
It is also suggested you plan a route for your kids, so their whereabouts are known.
Because of possible allergies or treat tampering, Stanley recommends kids wait until they are home to consume candy.
Before that happens, treats should be inspected by a parent or guardian.
OPP are also expected to provide heightened patrol around trick-or-treat time.
