The City of Owen Sound’s annual Remembrance Day Service at the Owen Sound Cenotaph on Nov. 11 will not have any public attendance this year, due to provincial gathering restrictions in place.
However, the city says residents will have the opportunity to acknowledge the courage and sacrifice of our veterans through broadcasts of the Remembrance Day Service.
560 CFOS will carry it both on the air and online at 560cfos.ca. The service will also be streamed on the city’s official Facebook page.
“Even though we cannot gather as a community at the Cenotaph this year, I would encourage everyone to take the time on Remembrance Day to reflect on the sacrifices of our veterans,” says Owen Sound Mayor Ian Boddy in a statement. “As a community, it is important we show our respect and appreciation on November 11.”
A Remembrance Day Parade will not take place in Owen Sound this year.
