The Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation presented a cheque for $100,000 to Grey Bruce Health Services CEO Gary Sims Monday.
The payment closed out the recent fundraising initiative in Saugeen Shores for the purchase of four new defibrillators for the hospital in Southampton.
Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation Executive Director Tracy Murray says The community was very supportive and helped to fill the need to cover the cost of the d life-saving equipment.
She says the government does not fund the purchase of new equipment for hospitals and Members of Saugeen Shores groups raised the money, including the Rotary Club, the Southampton Resident’s Association, Tundra Technical, Boston Pizza and even people who raised funds through golf activities and garage sales.
