Grey Bruce OPP are reporting a number of dangerous driving incidents in the area over the weekend.
On Saturday, (Oct17th) at about 3 in the afternoon, officers were dispatched to a single ATV rollover collision on Sideroad 13B, in Grey Highlands. OPP say both the driver and passenger were thrown from the ATV. The passenger was transported via ambulance to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver, a 24 year old North York man failed a roadside screening test and was arrested for impaired operation of a vehicle.
The accused had their drivers licence suspended for 90 days and the involved ATV was towed and will be impounded for seven days.
Meanwhile, on Friday (Oct 16th) just before 8 at night, OPP stopped a 37 year old driver from Orangeville on Highway 10 near Dundalk’s main intersection for doing over 130km/h in an 80 zone.
Earlier that evening, Grey Bruce OPP responded to a traffic complaint about a black car that was stuck in mud near the intersection of William Street and McNaughton Street in Wiarton. Police say the driver showed signs of impairment and a Drug Recognition Expert conducted and evaluation after which, the 44 year old South Bruce Peninsula man was charged with driving while being impaired by drugs, possession of meth and failing to comply with probation.
