No new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Monday (Oct 19) in Grey Bruce.
Public Health says there are currently five active cases in the region.
There have been 164 confirmed cases to date.
No one has died locally from the virus and there are no reported outbreaks in long-term care homes, retirement homes, daycares or schools.
While three cases were confirmed in students from the same family attending Osprey Central School in Grey Highlands on the weekend, those cases are isolating and Public Health says they did not contract the virus at school, but rather in the community.
The Health Unit has not reported other positive cases in the school, and therefore has not declared an outbreak. They are deploying a mobile testing unit to the community this week. Medical Officer of Health Dr. Ian Arra says the optimal time to test people is after 5-7 days, otherwise symptoms may not have shown up, and tests may not detect the virus.
